Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR1284 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR1284’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MIR1284 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR1284 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, BLCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where MIR1284 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
