MIF4GD

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIF4GD RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIF4GD’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where MIF4GD RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIF4GD is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where MIF4GD tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
