Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIF Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MIF data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher MIF Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MIF expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
BLCA and UCEC are the cancer types where MIF Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
