Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MGAT4B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MGAT4B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where MGAT4B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MGAT4B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, BLCA, and THCA are the cancer types where MGAT4B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
