Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MFSD6L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MFSD6L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MFSD6L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MFSD6L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KIRP, and HNSC are the cancer types where MFSD6L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
