Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MFSD4B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MFSD4B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MFSD4B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MFSD4B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, KIRC, and KIRP are the cancer types where MFSD4B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
