Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, METAP1D RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of METAP1D’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where METAP1D RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types METAP1D is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, LUAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where METAP1D tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
