Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MC4R RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MC4R data layer compared with 7 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher MC4R RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MC4R expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUAD show a favorable association.

BLCA, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where MC4R RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
