Across TCGA patient cohorts, MBP protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 9,708 significant associations in total. GBM shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MBP-associated genes across cancer lineages are THEMIS, HLA-E, and KLRC4-KLRK1. Each is linked with MBP in more than 4 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MBP-to-partner and partner-to-MBP results are reported.
