Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MAPK13 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MAPK13’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MAPK13 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MAPK13 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, BLCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where MAPK13 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
