Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MAFG-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MAFG-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where MAFG-DT RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MAFG-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, BLCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where MAFG-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
