Across TCGA patient cohorts, MAEL protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 141 significant associations in total. BRCA shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MAEL-associated genes across cancer lineages are DPH5, RPL5, and RALY. Each is linked with MAEL in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MAEL-to-partner and partner-to-MAEL results are reported.
