Across TCGA cell cohorts, MAEL mutation is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 7 significant associations in total. SKIN shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MAEL-associated genes across cancer lineages are HBZ, SSTR5, and KRTAP4-6. Each is linked with MAEL in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MAEL-to-partner and partner-to-MAEL results are reported.
