Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MACROH2A2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MACROH2A2 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in brain lower grade glioma (LGG), where higher MACROH2A2 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MACROH2A2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LGG and UCS show a favorable association.
LGG, ACC, and UCS are the cancer types where MACROH2A2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
