Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LYPLAL1-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 18 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LYPLAL1-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where LYPLAL1-DT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LYPLAL1-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and KICH are the cancer types where LYPLAL1-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
