Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LSS RNA is linked to patient survival in 30 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated LSS data layer compared with 6 for mutation status and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher LSS RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated LSS expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and UCS show a favorable association.
CESC, BLCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where LSS RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
