Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC00589 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC00589’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where LINC00589 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC00589 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KIRC, and LUAD are the cancer types where LINC00589 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
