Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC00251 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC00251’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where LINC00251 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC00251 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC and ESCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, LIHC, and ESCA are the cancer types where LINC00251 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
