Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LCE1A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LCE1A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where LCE1A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LCE1A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC and PRAD are the cancer types where LCE1A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
