Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRTAP5-9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRTAP5-9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where KRTAP5-9 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRTAP5-9 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
UCEC, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where KRTAP5-9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
