Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRTAP5-7 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRTAP5-7’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where KRTAP5-7 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRTAP5-7 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, BRCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where KRTAP5-7 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
