Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRTAP21-1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 15 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated KRTAP21-1 data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher KRTAP21-1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KRTAP21-1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and SKCM show a favorable association.

HNSC, OV, and STAD are the cancer types where KRTAP21-1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
