Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRTAP20-2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 13 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated KRTAP20-2 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher KRTAP20-2 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KRTAP20-2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and CESC show a favorable association.

KIRP, KIRC, and UCS are the cancer types where KRTAP20-2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
