Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KIF1C RNA is linked to patient survival in 25 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated KIF1C data layer compared with 5 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher KIF1C RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KIF1C expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRP and KIRC show a favorable association.

KIRP, KICH, and KIRC are the cancer types where KIF1C RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
