Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KIF1C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KIF1C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where KIF1C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KIF1C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, KIRC, and LUAD are the cancer types where KIF1C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
