Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KCNK16 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KCNK16’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where KCNK16 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KCNK16 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
UCEC, LUSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where KCNK16 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
