Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, INPP5J RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of INPP5J’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where INPP5J RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types INPP5J is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, KIRP, and THCA are the cancer types where INPP5J tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
