Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IL6ST Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated IL6ST data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where higher IL6ST Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated IL6ST expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
READ, ESCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where IL6ST Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
