IL33

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IL33 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of IL33’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where IL33 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types IL33 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, LUAD, and THCA are the cancer types where IL33 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
