Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGKV2-40 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of IGKV2-40’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where IGKV2-40 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types IGKV2-40 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, READ, and PAAD are the cancer types where IGKV2-40 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
