Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGKV1-5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated IGKV1-5 data layer compared with 7 for mutation status and 8 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher IGKV1-5 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated IGKV1-5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and SKCM show a favorable association.

HNSC, SKCM, and BRCA are the cancer types where IGKV1-5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
