Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGKV1-17 RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated IGKV1-17 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher IGKV1-17 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated IGKV1-17 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and SKCM show a favorable association.

HNSC, SKCM, and COAD are the cancer types where IGKV1-17 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
