Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGHV3-50 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of IGHV3-50’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where IGHV3-50 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types IGHV3-50 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and STAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, COAD, and STAD are the cancer types where IGHV3-50 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
