Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IGHV1-2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated IGHV1-2 data layer compared with 1 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher IGHV1-2 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated IGHV1-2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and SKCM show a favorable association.
HNSC, SKCM, and BRCA are the cancer types where IGHV1-2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
