Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, IFNA7 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of IFNA7’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where IFNA7 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types IFNA7 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and KIRP are the cancer types where IFNA7 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
