Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HTR3C2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HTR3C2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where HTR3C2P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HTR3C2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA are the cancer types where HTR3C2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
