Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSPE1P4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HSPE1P4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where HSPE1P4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HSPE1P4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, BLCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where HSPE1P4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
