Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSFY3P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HSFY3P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where HSFY3P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HSFY3P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, HNSC, and CHOL are the cancer types where HSFY3P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
