Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSD17B11 RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated HSD17B11 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher HSD17B11 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HSD17B11 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and SKCM show a favorable association.

KIRC, ACC, and SKCM are the cancer types where HSD17B11 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
