Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSD17B11 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HSD17B11 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher HSD17B11 mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HSD17B11 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and PDAC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, LUAD, and PDAC are the cancer types where HSD17B11 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
