Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HSD11B1L RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated HSD11B1L data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher HSD11B1L RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HSD11B1L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUAD show a favorable association.

HNSC, ACC, and LUAD are the cancer types where HSD11B1L RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
