Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGN2P31 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGN2P31’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD), where HMGN2P31 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGN2P31 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PRAD, CHOL, and KIRC are the cancer types where HMGN2P31 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
