Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGN2P24 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGN2P24’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where HMGN2P24 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGN2P24 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, LUSC, and KIRP are the cancer types where HMGN2P24 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
