Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGN1P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGN1P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where HMGN1P14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGN1P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KICH, and KIRC are the cancer types where HMGN1P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
