Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGCS1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HMGCS1 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher HMGCS1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HMGCS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
STAD, LIHC, and ESCA are the cancer types where HMGCS1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
