Across TCGA cell cohorts, HMGCS1 RNA expression is significantly associated with the go_rna of many other GO terms, with 3,270 significant associations in total. SOFT_TISSUE shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible HMGCS1-associated GO terms across cancer lineages are Secondary alcohol biosynthetic process, Cholesterol biosynthetic process via desmosterol, and Cholesterol biosynthetic process via lathosterol. Each is linked with HMGCS1 in more than 19 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both HMGCS1-to-partner and partner-to-HMGCS1 results are reported.
