Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGCR Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HMGCR data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher HMGCR Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HMGCR expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
UCEC, HNSC, and ESCA are the cancer types where HMGCR Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
