Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGB3P9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGB3P9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), where HMGB3P9 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGB3P9 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PAAD, BLCA, and THCA are the cancer types where HMGB3P9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
