Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGB3P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGB3P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where HMGB3P14 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGB3P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, HNSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where HMGB3P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
