Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HIC1 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HIC1 data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher HIC1 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HIC1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and LUAD show a favorable association.

CCRCC, LUAD, and LSCC are the cancer types where HIC1 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
